With the stage set for the season 27 finale of The Voice, Jadyn Cree, Lucia Flores-Wiseman, Jaelen Johnston, Renzo, and Adam David could do nothing more than wait. While voting ended Tuesday morning, the Top 5 will get one more chance to perform during the season finale. Teaming up with their coach, the remaining contestants hoped to offer fans one last performance before learning their fate. But before Carson Daly revealed the winner, Kelly Clarkson returned to offer a taste of her new song “Where Have You Been.”
For Clarkson, the night was more than a celebration of the Top 5. Looking at the history of the show, the singer coached for nine seasons and ended up winning four of them. Holding the record for the most wins by a female coach, she appeared right at home when she took the stage. But outside of her history with The Voice, she also knew what the contestants were feeling. Winning season one of American Idol, Clarkson was proof to the contestants of what could happen if they won.
