NFL reporter Doug Kyed has revealed that his two-year-old daughter has passed away, nine months following her heartbreaking leukemia diagnosis.<\/b><\/p>\n

As per reports, little Hallie Kyed was dealt the shocking blow in April 2023. Her father Doug, who works for the Boston Herald, shared on Instagram that his daughter had lost her fight on January 2021.<\/p>\n

Kyed revealed that things had taken a turn for the worse after Hallie relapsed following a bone marrow transplant.<\/p>\n

\u201cHallie died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning as Jen and I held her hands in bed,\u201d Doug wrote. \u201cWe\u2019re completely lost and heartbroken without Hallie. Our lives will never be the same.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following Hallie\u2019s relapse, Doug wrote that the family was trying to stay positive despite the obvious obstacles in his daughter\u2019s path.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m choosing to stay positive,\u201d the reporter said at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cHallie has beaten every single obstacle that AML has thrown her so far. This will absolutely be her toughest test, but if anyone can topple it, it\u2019s our fierce little Hallie Bear.\u201c<\/p>\n

Even so, Doug admitted they that \u201cknew the prognosis was poor when she relapsed after her bone marrow transplant, so the whole family spent special time at the hospital last week, but we held out hope for remission because of how brave, strong and resilient Hallie had been through her entire nine-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia and all of its complications.\u201d<\/p>\n

As per the American Cancer Society, acute myeloid leukemia starts in the bone marrow but moves quickly into the blood. Thereafter it can spread to the lymph nodes, the liver, the spleen and central nervous system.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the Boston Herald, Doug said that he had spent almost half his nights at Boston\u2019s Children Hospital since his daughter\u2019s diagnosis last year. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy wife and I have switched off between caring for Hallie and our 5-year-old, Olivia, at home,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Doug\u2019s wife Jen, meanwhile, described the feeling of losing her daughter as having a hole in her heart.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a giant hole in my heart and the pain is excruciating,\u201d Jen Kyed shared. \u201cI will never understand why or how something so horrible can happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
